About
Carlton Schreiner
|
In
1982 Carlton was on the verge of a Hollywood
record contract as a hard rock guitarist and songwriter
for the band, “Crash
Landing”. However, a powerful spiritual experience
dramatically changed him and the course of his
life. He left the rock
world and self-produced an acoustic album of
songs reflecting his spiritual awakening. It featured
his wife as the singer.
The album was well-received but soon thereafter
Carlton
was tragically divorced. For one year Carlton
abandoned his guitars
and his music and immersed himself in the simplicity
of devotional singing with a soothing instrument
called a harmonium. For
the next 16 years he sang and played guitar with
spiritual singing groups, including the Joy Singers,
while maintaining
a successful nutritional counseling business
and co-parenting his son. He had no plans to produce
anymore original
music. But in 2000 his life began to change again
and new music
began to flow through him. |
